The abduction of 10 individuals in the Wuro Musa area of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, has been officially confirmed by the Taraba State Police Command.

According to Usman Abdullahi, the Command's Public Relations Officer, the victims were taken in the early hours of Friday.
Abdullahi assured the public that the police were actively pursuing the abductors and encouraged those with valuable information to contact the police or any relevant security agency.

The police spokesperson stated, "Ten persons were kidnapped at about 00.40 hours in Wuro Musa.
Residents of the affected community, in discussions with newsmen, appealed to the state government to collaborate closely with security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.

Reports from the community suggest that the kidnappers, arriving in significant numbers, fired shots in the air to instill fear and deter any resistance from the residents. The residents further noted that the abductors operated for an extended period without any visible presence of security personnel.

It's worth mentioning that, in contrast to the police's announced figure, residents informed our reporter that a total of 13 individuals, including four women, were taken.
