Mr. Ignatius Jelason, a former Registrar of Taraba State Polytechnic, has called on the institution's management to fast-track the payment of his retirement benefits, which have remained unpaid since his retirement in 2024.

In a press briefing held in Jalingo on Saturday, Jelason expressed disappointment that despite dedicating 35 years of service to the state, he has yet to receive any of his entitlements several months after leaving office.

He explained that he spent three decades working with the Taraba State Post Primary Schools Management Board (TSPPSMB) before transferring to Taraba State Polytechnic in 2019. He served there for five years before retiring.

“I served as Principal of Government Science Secondary School, Jalingo, before my transfer to the Polytechnic, which was approved by former Governor Darius Ishaku,” he said.

Jelason noted that he has submitted all necessary documents to the institution’s pension unit but has seen no meaningful progress in the processing of his benefits.

“I have complied with all administrative procedures. I’m now appealing to the Polytechnic’s management to expedite the process so I can access my entitlements,” he pleaded.

A source within the institution, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that Jelason’s file is currently being processed by the registrar’s office.

Attempts to get an official response from the Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Amos Danlami Agbu, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
