The Progressive Youths wing of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bali Local Government Area, Taraba State, has urged Governor Agbu Kefas to dismiss recent social media reports against the Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. James Habu Philip, describing them as baseless and politically motivated.

In an open letter signed by their president, Comrade Uten Dubagari, the youths accused mischief-makers in Bali Local Government, allegedly sponsored by opponents of the governor’s administration, of orchestrating the campaign of calumny against the commissioner. The group maintained that the allegations are fabricated and aimed at undermining the achievements of Governor Kefas’ administration.

The youths specifically refuted claims made in an open letter by one Nuru Ahijo from Garba Chede, accusing him of character assassination against the commissioner.

“Nuru Ahijo is a political thug hired by selfish and disgruntled politicians to blackmail Hon. James Habu Philip and discredit the administration of Governor Kefas,” the letter stated. “He is not a member of the PDP but is being used to spread falsehoods, sow distrust, and undermine public confidence in the government.”

Describing the commissioner as a dedicated and trustworthy leader, the youths highlighted Hon. James Habu Philip’s commitment to service delivery and his role in supporting the governor’s developmental agenda.

“Hon. Habu James is a responsible and committed representative who upholds the values of the PDP and works tirelessly to bring progress to Bali Local Government and Taraba State. He has never been involved in any questionable acts and remains focused on delivering impactful results for the benefit of the community,” the group noted.

The youths warned against further attempts to tarnish the commissioner’s reputation and pledged to take legal action against individuals responsible for spreading false information.

“As progressive youths, we will always stand by the truth and defend it for the development of Bali Local Government. We urge Governor Kefas to disregard these baseless allegations and continue to support Hon. Habu James in his mission to serve the people,” they concluded.

The statement reflects growing concerns over the use of social media for political blackmail and underscores the PDP youths’ commitment to protecting the integrity of their leaders.
