The Chairman of Bali Local Government Council in Taraba State, Alhaji Dauda Dakka, has instructed the district head of Zudai community, Mijinyawa Mohammed, to promptly return the farmland reportedly taken from the Tiv community in the area to its rightful owners.

This directive, issued on Tuesday, follows allegations of land confiscation by the monarch. The Tiv community had previously lodged a complaint with the council and security agencies regarding the confiscation and sale of their ancestral lands and homes, leaving them displaced.

After conducting an investigation, the chairman ordered the monarch to immediately return all sold lands to their original owners and warned against further land sales.

He reminded traditional rulers of the state government's suspension of land sales and emphasized the importance of fostering harmony within communities to prevent unrest.
