Abdulnasir Bobboji, chairman of the council of the Jalingo Local Government Area of ​​Taraba state, is requesting relief materials for the victims of the flood that devastated the area on Saturday, as reported by Newslodge.


Building materials, food, and medicine are one of the materials on the president’s list.



Newslodge also learned that Bobboji has contacted the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for support. He has also urged the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management to help the residents of the area.


He said, “As you can see, many houses have collapsed, properties that include food have been destroyed by the flood.”


For its part, the city council, according to him, has concluded plans to write to all interested authorities “that we need urgent help.”



The President reiterated again the need for people living in flood-prone areas in the state capital and the state in general to urgently seek alternative settlement areas.


The flood that occurred in the early hours of last Saturday was seen to have washed away no fewer than 200 houses and other valuables including farmland and domestic animals.


It was observed that the affected victims, who are still counting their losses, aligned their weight with that of the president of the council who signaled to the authorities to urgently come to their rescue.
