In this article, Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) reporter talks about the music journey of rapper Jossy and his seemingly new found Faith and belief.
A rapstar now a pastor? Come along!
Emerging Nigerian rapper, Jossy is undoubtedly one of the lyrical heavyweight when it comes to rap music in Taraba state, and the north eastern region; his display of lyrical process, deep lyrics, content and speed has made many liken him to Eminem.
The rapper made his debut in 2015 when he released “Thomas' ' while he was still the DOS of Taraba state university, his alma Mater. The sound was unusual, the lyrics were uncommon and it sounded a warning sign to other rappers that another hotcake has arrived or should I say a competition.

Though he had an unreleased single titled “Ayomide” , his debut ``Ayomide '' was preceded by another comic song “Jaypoo”. Jaypoo announced him properly to his listeners and reinstated him as a king in what he does, he was fondly called Jaypoo master. Jossy released songs that became hits that later became hit songs such as “Good Morning” featuring Nigeria’s for most producer, DeeYasso and other songs too. He was featured in many songs and cyphers he delivers well.

The rapper later dropped an Album tagged “Chilling With The Big Sea '' in 2020. The album featured several artists such as Bowk, Skylite, Sandii and lots more. Of a truth, the album caught fire and made the market, got several air plays, nominations and awards.
But about two years after the album was released, the rapper went mute, though not extinct but he was silent and a look at his official Facebook handle suggest he is now a committed Christian, More like pastor.
Our findings show that he barely attends shows or circular events and talks more about performing in them, in random chats with other entertainers we got to hear their views.
“it's been more than a year since Jossy did not appear on any poster” an entertainer said. Others believe that the rapper who is either in his early or mid 30s probably saw the need to be close to his creator, while others argue that Music isn't paying him well, some insist that the rapper is still in the game.
A look at his timeline in comparison with his former post will show a distinct difference in his looks, dressing, hairstyle and his posts; from sharing Pastor Chris Oyakilome teachings to sharing of church event fliers and programs.
Though we are yet to establish contact with Jossy on the said issue, what do you think? Let's hear from you, drop your comments!
