Taraba state house of assembly on Tuesday inaugurated its special and standing committee to perform the desired oversight functions both at the house complex and within government ministries.

Performing the inauguration ceremony at the Harrow Chambers of the state house of assembly, the deputy speaker Hon. Danladi Gwampo who represented the house speaker said the main work of the legislature is done when the committees of the legislature are made to function effectively.

Gwampo who presided over the house charge the newly inaugurated committees to conduct their oversight diligently to deliver better governance to the people of Taraba state.

The special committees includes, Selection, Rules and Legislative Compliance, Public Petition, Internal Security, Ethics and Privileges, House Services, Public Account and Internal Generated Revenue.

The standing committee are, Agriculture and natural resources, Education, science and technology, Finance and appropriation, Poverty alleviation, cooperative, commerce and industry, Sustainable development goals, aids and pension, Women and child development.

Other committees includes, Works and housing, Transport, disaster management, land and survey, Information, culture and tourism, Health services, Social welfare, Water resources and ruler development, Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Environment, urban development a d forestry potentials and Justice, judiciary a d cabinet affairs.
