The executive Governor of Taraba, Arch Darius Ishaku said he is determined to call off the ongoing strike of Taraba state university permanently and pleads for little more patience.

Ishaku said this on Wednesday while addressing Tarabans who came out to witness his inauguration\ swearing and oath taking at the main pitch of Jolly Nyame stadium, Jalingo.


"I'm painfully aware of the ongoing strike embarked by the ASUU chapter of the Taraba state university, few weeks after my reelection which has lasted over a month and I'm determined to tackle the challenges of the university permanently"

"I plead with students of the university to exercise a little more patience as I profer permanent solution to the lingering industrial actions".


Gov. Ishaku also went further to list some of the achievement by his administration in the education sector which includes revitalisation of Education, employment of 3000 rescue teachers, supply of over 10,000 furniture for secondary schools, train the teacher campaign, improvement in external examination.

"As at time when I came in as governor, Taraba state university had only 5-6 professors but now they can boast of over 50 professors, accreditation of most courses and establishment of more facilities of both the university, college of education, nursing & polytechnics too" Ishaku said.
