The former acting governor of Taraba state, Sani Danladi, has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in the state.

The result was declared by the chairman of the all progressives congress electoral panel in Taraba state Senator Emmanuel Ocheja.
The declaration of Sani Danladi as the winner was made by APC's returning officer Senator Emmanuel Ocheja in the early hours of Wednesday in Jalingo.
Ocheja said the former Taraba state acting governor emerged victorious with 60,629 votes out of  a total of 107, 387 votes cast, while the first runner up Senator Joel Ikenya had 11,773 votes, the governorship  primary election was conducted in all wards of the 16 local government areas of Taraba state.
The conduct of the election was on Tuesday challenged by eight out of the 10 aspirants that contested the APC governorship primary in Taraba state. They called on the national body of the party to cancel the election.
Leader of the aggrieved contestants David Kente said the election was marred by hijacking of ballots, violence, and thuggery.
