The Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has granted State pardon to twenty-one persons serving various jail terms in the State as
contained in the Prerogative of Mercy.

In a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hassan Mijinyawa, indicates that as part of powers conferred on him in section 212 sub section 1 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, 1999 as amended in 2011.
Those that benefited from the Prerogative of
Mercy of Governor Darius Ishaku include,
Yankari Isaac, Philibus Maisamari, Lawan Saidu,
Aisha Abdullahi, Alani Usman and Isah
Mohammed.
Also contained in the press release are
Mohammed Babamuri, Adamu Bappa,
Emmanuel Jibril, Bala Usman, Zabee Kangauyo,
Yusuf Jibril, Nacha Abdullahi, Chika Akabuaga,
Sunday Okechukwu, Mbagaji Orker and Dominic
Nzinang Bukuni.
Others are, Demega Kwagha, Terhemba Wuese,
Musa Ibrahim and Isaac Kana.
The release further states that, the Governor’s
action is in line with the recommendation of the
State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy
for the remission of jail terms imposed on the
Prisoners by the courts in Gembu, Jalingo, Serti
and Wukari.
Governor Darius Ishaku has therefore directed
the State Controller of Prisons to as a matter of
urgency effect the discharge of the affected
persons.
