Taraba State Executive Council approved the sum
of N5.8bn for the construction of water scheme from
River Lamorde to mount Jalingo to supply adequate
water to the people.

Briefing Government House Correspondents after the
meeting, the Commissioner for Information
Anthony Danburam said the amount would cover
the water reticulation and laying of pipes to ensure
that most areas in the metropolis were covered.
Anthony Danburam said the State Excutive Council
also approved over N1bn to whiz China
Construction Company for the construction of the
Magami road, including drainages and culverts.


Over N156 million was also approved to the Masses
Tarmac Construction Company for the construction
of Mararraba-Baissa-Abong road which the present
administration revoked the initial contract.
The State Executive Council ratified the agreement

between the state government and the O verland
Airways to commence a non-stop flight in the
state while the white paper on verification of
employment and transfer was hifted to the first week
of March.

The Executive Council also set up a committee to
refocus on the Jalinguo master plan to restructure it
to a modern city including the Ministry of Justice,
Housing, Finance and Investment.
Another committee was also set up to verify
government properties in the state to avert diversion
of property into personal use especially those at the
local government.
