Jalingo, Nov. 24, 2025 — The Taraba State Government has announced the full enforcement of the standardized TARABA SACK, officially banning all non-approved sacks and bags across the state.

The directive, issued under Executive Order No. 9 of 2025, follows the expiration of the three-month transition period granted to dealers after the sack’s unveiling in August.

Effective immediately, only government-approved Taraba Sacks may be used, sold, or transported within the state. The ban also prohibits the entry of any non-approved empty sacks into all 16 LGAs, including Ngada and Yangtu.

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, led by Hon. Peter George, warned that trucks or individuals found violating the order will have their goods and vehicles confiscated for investigation as enforcement commences.

According to the Ministry, the move will protect farmers from exploitation, enhance transparency in trade, and improve the market value of Taraba’s agricultural products.
