The Taraba State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux and taken two suspects into custody in connection with the crime.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, James Lashen Saminu, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday.
According to him, the operation followed a tip-off from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Kano State, which alerted Taraba police about the movement of the stolen vehicle. The report indicated that a white Toyota Hilux, without a plate number, had been stolen from one Mr. Murtala Musa of Dutse Road, Kano, on August 28, 2025, and was suspected to be en route to Jalingo.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, operatives apprehended two suspects, identified as Yallah Kadara of Anguwan Kasa and Sa’ad Bello, who were found in possession of the vehicle.
Commending the officers for their prompt response, Commissioner of Police Betty Isokpan assured the public that investigations are ongoing. She reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state, while urging residents to strengthen their partnership with security agencies.
“Community collaboration remains a vital tool in fighting crime. We encourage the public to share timely and credible information to help us serve them better,” she added.
