On May 19, 2024, troops from the Nigerian Army's 6 Brigade and Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) carried out successful operations in Taraba State, arresting six suspected kidnappers.

In Chinkai Village, Wukari Local Government Area, soldiers from the 93 Battalion, Sub-Sector 3B, apprehended Usman Gide Ali and Abdulrahman Amadu, who attempted to bribe them with N2 million, which the troops refused.

Another operation in Ibi Local Government Area led to the capture of four more suspects: Jafaru Banyi, Mohammad Ardo, Amadu Lawal Shatta, and Biyu Ardu, all linked to high-profile kidnappings.

Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa praised the soldiers' professionalism and integrity in rejecting the bribe and emphasized the importance of their commitment to justice.

These operations highlight the army's ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and maintain security in the region.
