Taraba lawmaker, Hon. Nelson C. Len (DCN), representing Nguroje Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, has demonstrated his commitment to societal well-being by empowering over 200 widows and women. Through the Hon. Nelson C. Len Widows/Women Support program, cash, food items, and a brand-new wheelchair were distributed to the beneficiaries in Sabon-Gari Kakara Village of Sardauna LG.
Mrs. Blessing Nelson C. Len, representing the lawmaker, personally reached out to the widows and women during the event, which saw the attendance of all four Ward Councillors, the PDP LG Woman Leader, the four Ward women leaders from Nguroje Constituency, and other well-wishers.
In an effort to enable financial independence, cash ranging from 20,000 Naira and upwards was presented to each woman. To discourage the misuse of funds, food items were also distributed, ensuring that the recipients could focus on starting small businesses. Additionally, clothing (wrappers) was provided to promote cleanliness among the participants.
A touching moment occurred when a brand-new wheelchair was donated to a woman who had faced challenges due to a lifelong disability. Expressing immense gratitude, she acknowledged that a new chapter had unfolded in her life, shedding tears of joy.
This initiative reflects Hon. Nelson C. Len's dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of his constituents, particularly women and widows in need.
