In order to curtail insecurity in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas, has sought the establishment of a Naval Base in the state.

During a courtesy call on Monday, he made this disclosure, when he visited the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the conference, Kefas stated his intentions of collaborating with the Navy to safeguard the lives of his people.

“Taraba shares borders with six states and the Republic of Cameroon, hence the need for adequate security strategies,” he said.

He also noted that involving the Navy is imperative in providing the desired security to the state because of the presence of tributaries across the state.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Ogalla commended Kefas for his visit and assured him that measures would be taken for the establishment of the Naval Base particularly at Kashimbilla Dam in Takum.
He also stated that the residents of the state would be carried along in their activities as he reemphasised his commitment to contribute to the security of Taraba State.

Kefas and Ogalla exchanged souvenirs with Kefas presenting Taraba’s Highland Tea.

The Taraba State Governor was accompanied by all National Assembly members from the state among others.
