A staff f the Taraba State College of Education, Zing, Zulfa’u Ahmed, has been arrested by local vigilantes over his alleged involvement in robbery.
Ahmed was allegedly caught while burgling a shop at Zing, the headquarters of Zing Local Government Area.
Upon interrogation, he claimed to be an employee of the College of Education, an official of the vigilante group disclosed.
According to the source, they wasted no time in apprehending him for questioning.
The Chief Security Officer, CSO, of the College, Linus D. Wee, confirmed that Ahmed was indeed a staff member at the institution.
He said the college’s management had long suspected him of engaging in multiple offenses and irregularities in his primary assignment.
“We advised the vigilante officials to transfer Ahmed to the Zing Division of the Nigeria Police for further investigation,’’ he said.
He stressed the importance of a thorough investigation to ascertain the extent of his alleged involvement in criminal activities.
He called on other staff members of the institution to remain vigilant and steer clear of activities that could implicate them or tarnish the institution's reputation.
