The Director, Federal Science, and Technical College Jalingo, Taraba State Dr. (Mrs.) Adaramola Mercy has appealed to the Federal Ministry of Education and stakeholders to rescue the institution from extinction caused by erosion.
Dr. Mercy, who double as the Principal of the college said the bridge that links the school to the main entrance has been destroyed by erosion, creating panic for the access road to the school environment.
The Principal made the appeal during the commissioning of the school Administrative Block and Multipurpose Hall Complex, as well as the graduation of students, speech, and prize-giving ceremony held at the school promises.
She lamented that the sinking bridge caused by erosion also damages the college environment.
According to her, the decaying bridge is becoming a nightmare for the management, staff, and students of the institution.
She stressed that the college also needs more security personnel for the protection of students.
Dr. Mercy disclosed that FSTC was established 35 years, has received tremendous academic growth, staff and students training, as well as infrastructural development under her administration.
On his part, the Permanent Secretary, of the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Andrew David Adejoh, who commissioned the project, applauded the college management for demonstrating significant leadership excellence in education, by providing a conducive learning environment for students.
The Permanent Secretary, who was represented by Mr. Kainde Okinake, said the structures built by the stewardship of Dr Mercy Adaramola are a proof of dedication and commitment.
