There is a media uproar and mixed reactions over the Ex Taraba's speaker, Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah's comment on the immediate past governor of Taraba State, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku.


Rhapsodi Affos Blog gathered that RT. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, who is the member representing the Mmbanga constituency of Taraba in the 10th Assembly while on an interview with Rock FM, a Taraba-based private radio station, on Monday accused the immediate past governor of misappropriating the state funds and using them for personal gain and selfish reasons.


He further berated the past governor for sinking the State into debt and leaving nothing for his predecessor, accusing him of naming the senate Building in Taraba State University after himself when it was the former Acting Governor, Alh Sani Abubakar who did it.

The lawmaker called out Arch. Ishaku for commissioning uncompleted projects. Adding that Arch Ishaku is worse than Pharoah in the Bible.


In his words


"Ishaku was a terrible man to work with. was a disaster to Taraba, he has no respect for constituted authority and has never had Taraba at heart"


"You looted everything in the state, and couldn't even pay salary yet you didn't leave anything for your younger brother"





"I think that the children of Israel were better off in Egypt than in Taraba between 2019-2023. Our priority is how Taraba should recover from this shock"


His comments didn't go down well with so many people as it generated many mixed reactions; 


Pictures of the former governor and the Ex speaker dining on several occasions resurfaced as it was believed that he was the governor's appointing candidate before they had a fallout.

Some loyalists of the ex-governor gave a rebuttal, they also accused the speaker of being a hypocrite as he was a beneficiary of the past administration.


They stressed that while he was a speaker of the house, he approved every loan that was brought before him because he was a beneficiary and had a lion's share.


Others berated him for keeping mute while he was in government and all of a sudden regained his voice all of a sudden because he wants to be relevant and gain favor in the eyes of the incumbent governor.

Rhapsodi Affos Blog further gathered that other Taraba Netcitizens said the lawmaker is not different from the ex-governor because none of them was after the good of the state. They cautioned the incumbent governor of Taraba State to be careful with people such as the ex-speaker.


While some believe, the ex-speaker lacks moral justification to speak about the former speaker, others believe that the former governor should be arrested by EFCC and some stressed the need to forge ahead.

As of the time of filing this report, the ex-governor of Taraba State, Arch Darius Ishaku is yet to reply to the speaker or make any public appearance since his exit from office.


Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) gathered that Abel resigned as the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly on 2 December 2019 due to personal reasons which many believed that he took the action to avert being impeached.
