Some students of Taraba State University and residents of ATC where the university is located have lamented the increase in charges across changing centers in the axis and the lack of electricity for about three days.


Some of the students who spoke with our reporter revealed that the charging centers charge N150 for phones, N200 for Power Banks 200, and 300 for Laptops which is difficult for an average student.


Another student who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that the institution has not had electricity for about 3 days, making it difficult for the students to cope with the expensive cost of living, and the institution is set to start exams in a week.


Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) gathered that charging was formerly N50 for phones, N100 for power bank, and 150 for Laptops the previous semester, however, we further gathered on resumption this semester, they now charge N100 for phones, 150 for power bank and 200 for laptop.


On their one part, some of the owners of the charging center who spoke to Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) reporter revealed that the increase in the charge is because of the sudden increase in fuel price as a result of subsidy. According to them, petrol that was sold at around N185-N200 is now sold at N500-600 and it became necessary for the hike.


Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) reports that the institution on Friday via a press release, empathize with the student and assured them of putting an end to the electricity challenge.
