The Taraba State Government said on Tuesday that it was set to boost agriculture in the state with the procurement of no fewer than 750 tractors from Czech Republic.


In a press release issued by the chief press Mr. Yusuf Sanda, said the governor has taken a giant step towards kick-starting the revitalization of the agricultural sector in the state.

The documents which was signed on the 20th of June, 2023 with an international company; Knight A. S from the Czech Republic, the Governor said the agreement is for the supply of 750 new global multi-purpose mini tractors and 100 sets of Cabrio compact tractors, accessories, tools, and spare parts for small and medium scale farmers in Taraba state.

The press release which reads “Dr Agbu Kefas reiterated the commitment of his administration to collaborate with foreign investors to modernize farming practices in the state so that local farmers can compete globally”.

“The agricultural machinery and accessories are to be delivered within the first 100 days of his administration”.

The tractors which were said to be purchased at 100 million euros, 50 million for 750 global mini tractors and 50 million euros for 100 cabrio compact tractors.
