It was a moment of an emotional outbreak as the 7th Assembly of Adamawa gifted a car to the security of the complex during the valedictory session.
In what became a major highlight of the 7th Adamawa Assembly valedictory sitting, the members rewarded hard work by handing a new car to the security man guarding the Assembly, Mr. Zira Kwaji.

The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Aminu Iya Abbas described Zira as an honest worker who had the character of doing more than his beat demanded, and handed the cars of a new Corolla Starlet to him. Presenting the car keys to Zira during the valedictory session, the Speaker said the Assembly found it necessary to reward Zira considering his commitment to his work. 

“Zira is the first person and last one who opens and closes the Assembly complex every day. He is always at his post, joyfully doing what he needs to do and what you ask him to do,” the Speaker said. With the car which was a contribution from all members of the Assembly for Zira came a cash of N100,000 which was donated by the member representing Yola North constituency in the House, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki, for Zira to fuel the car.

For Zira who never owned even a bicycle, the car gift was a miracle.

In an emotion-laden voice, Zira said to the newsmen, “I did not expect this. I was only always doing my job the best way I knew. I am overwhelmed.”
 who rounded off the speeches, disclosed that the 7th House of Assembly had in the past four years passed 65 bills and 63 resolutions, and that 37 of the bills had been signed into law.
