Amidst suspension rumor, Taraba Labour Party passes vote of confidence in Chairperson over quality leadership

Despite the rumored suspension of their chairperson over the alleged misappropriation of 21 Million made for mobilization and campaign, Taraba state chapter of the Labour Party (LP), on Tuesday, passed a vote of confidence in its Chairperson Mrs. Esther Gulmu, due to her quality leadership.

Bishop David Nwirim, the state Presidential campaign Coordinator PCC who led the state executive council of the party, expressed that at the party Secretariat in Jalingo.

He disclosed that members of the party have found diligence and quality leadership in Gulmu, capable of delivering LP from president to members of the house of assembly in the state, and “have decided to appreciate her with a vote of confidence.”

Bishop Nwirim noted that members and Exco members of the party in Taraba were in a good working relationship with the Chairperson and debunked the earlier report that the state party Chairperson was suspended.

“I want us to imbibe the culture of unity and focus on the Obidient movement.

“I want to declare here that Mrs. Esther Gulmu, the Taraba state chairperson of the Labour Party has proven to be outstanding in ensuring that our party wins all positions in the general and fulfills the Obidient movement. We have by her outstanding leadership qualities, deliberated and considered to pass a vote of confidence on the Chairperson in an appreciation and injection of more Moral booster in her to work more.

“I want to debunk the rumor speculating that the party chairperson is suspended. Mrs. Esther Gulmu was not and is not suspended. She is our chairperson and all members and state executives of our party are in harmonious working relationship with her to ensure possible fulfillment of the Obidient movement,” The PCC chairman expressed.

Also speaking, Mr Simon Julius, the Labour Party’s Secretary for Jalingo local government and Mr. Maigida Tsonde Apura, the local government’s Coordinating Chairman of the Party, both described Mrs. Gulmu as one leader that has proven fairness in all activities in ensuring a strong existence of Labour Party in Taraba state.

Gulmu, the state party Chairperson while responding, thanked the party executives for their support.

She assured that the vote of confidence was a morale booster to enable her to do more to ensure the Obidient movement is actualized, and the Labour Party won all positions in this year’s general election.
