Some residents of Jalingo the Taraba state capital have expressed joy as they receive Insecticide Treated Nets in their various homes.
Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) reports that in a bid to achieve a "malaria-free" Taraba, the Global Fund, through Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as its implementing partner and other partners has begun the distribution of treated mosquito nets in the state. This is following the flag of the campaign on Friday, in Jalingo the Taraba State capital.
In a chat with our reporter, some of the residents of Mayo Dassa area of Jalingo, Mrs. Talatu Moses expressed her gratitude to the donors for their kind gestures, stressing bag others should emulate them.
Mazon Haruna, also a resident of Mile 6 six in Jalingo, told our reporter that the distribution of free ITN will aid in salvaging the plight of the common man.
Earlier while speaking during the flag-off of the campaign, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire Represented by the Chief Medical Director(CMD) of the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Adam appealed to traditional and religious leaders to spread across Taraba state and the country at large to assist in encouraging people in their communities on the need to always sleep inside mosquito nets “every night.”.
The minister also appealed to the media practitioners to support the process by disseminating information that would encourage the public to sleep inside the nets.
Rhapsodi Affos Blog Further gathered that the distribution will end on 26th September and Over two million IT's will be distributed.
