The story of Senator Sani Abubakar Danladi resonates in Taraba politics for almost two decades when he was chosen to serve the Deputy Governor of former Governor of Taraba State late Pharmacist Danbaba Danfulani Suntai in 2007.
Even though, Sani Danladi was in politics since 1999 and has held both elected and appointed positions as supervisory Councillor, elected Councillor, Leader of the Council and Chairman in Karim Lamido Local Government. These positions prepared him for much bigger political mastery and responsibility in Taraba State.
Sani Contact as he is popularly known is a grassroots politician that has extended networks in every nooks and crannies of Taraba State. He has built an empire of politics more than any other politician in Taraba State. He is well known both within and outside Taraba. To underrate him politically is to do that at your peril.
The four most powerful politicians in Taraba politics were/are; Rev. Jolly Nyame, late Pharm. Danbaba Suntai, Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi and Governor Darius Ishaku. These political gladiators have one thing in common; structures, followers and resources. Interestingly, he is the one calling the shots in opposition with his former late boss DDI and JTN not in active politics.
The question to ask is how will Sani Contact's impact be felt in 2023 Taraba politics? There you go and here is why. To be a General in politics or be a complete politician is to won and lost elections. If a politician did not experienced these two scenarios in his politician history has much to learn politically.
The wealth of experience of Sani Danladi is second to none in Taraba politics. His major advantage to the success of opposition politics is in three folds. First, weight of history in terms of experience. He has seen the good, the bad and ugly of Taraba politics. Both as Deputy Governor and opposition gubernatorial candidate in 2019.
Secondly, his vast tentacles of political structures and goodwill. This is a very important factor to garner support for APC. Thirdly, his financial muscle and other human resources too will be deployed to bolster the capacity and strength of the opposition to succeed in 2023.
The two judgments of Federal High Court, Jalingo of 15th October 2021and 26th April 2022 on Sani Danladi's eligibility to contest election had silenced the opposition and the political ganged-up by those who want to retire him from politics.
As a man of the people he is always call to serve by divine interventions. It is yet another opportunity to represent the good people of Taraba North at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
Senator Sani Danladi has experienced both the executive and legislative roles as a politician which qualifies him to the task ahead.
