The chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission (CSC), Elder Chief. John Mamman has reacted to claims by different quarters that the Taraba state government is selling civil service jobs.


Recall that a week ago, Rhapsodi Affos Blog had reported that the Taraba state government through the commission lifted the embargo on employment into the state civil service service.


The application form, Rhapsodi Affos Blog gathered  costs N3,000 which generated a lot of controversy, mixed reactions and social media debates: while some alleged that the forms should be free, others obliquely agreed with the amount. The youth of the state have already threatened mass protest against the development if the application fee is not dropped.




Reacting to the situation, Mamman said that the CSC don't sell jobs but give everyone an equal opportunity to apply and get shortlisted. He insisted that the N3,000  is a mandatory fee for sales of  application forms as amended in the Taraba State government law of 1991 and not synonymous to job selling.


The chairman described the allegation as political rumour against the progress of governor, Darius Ishaku and it's coming from unprogressive politicians.

“This allegation is coming from some unprogressive minded politicians who are doing all they could to tarnish the image of Governor Darius Ishaku.


“The N3000 being portrayed as buying a job in the ongoing Taraba State recruitment exercise is a mandatory fee for application forms as amended in the civil service law of Taraba State 1991.


“The exercise is going to be transparent as directed by governor Darius Ishaku. We do not, and we are not going to carry out such corrupt practice in Taraba State,” He added.
