Autan Zaki Global Foundation, a non-profit humanitarian organization in partnership with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) on Saturday, 10th July 2021 visited the Internally Displaced Person's Camp, New Kuchingoro - Abuja to conduct a Tree Planting Campaign and also free classes.
The foundation enlightened them on the benefits of trees and how it affects the environment, stressing the numerous disadvantages of deforestation and why afforestation through tree planting is a necessity.
Highlights of the visit include lectures, distribution of writing materials, games, and tree planting as some of the campers took turns planting the trees.
Sustainable Development Goal 13 is about climate action and is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015. The official wording is to "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts". The Goal has targets to be achieved by 2030.
Autan Zaki Global Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian organization that is interested in assisting orphans, widows, less-privilege, defending women and the girl-child against violence. They also engage in Community Development Projects in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, Orphanage homes.
