NYSC Applauded Over Free Health Services In Taraba

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Taraba State has commenced the provision of free medical intervention to several communities.

The Taraba Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Tony Nzoka, said the aim of the programme was to bring health care delivery to the door steps of rural folks.

Nzoka specially called on the residents of Wuro Sembe Community in Jalingo Local Government Area to take advantage of the opportunity to access free and quality health services provided by the NYSC health professionals during the four-day programme.

Alhaji Abdulnasir Boboji, the Chairman of the Jalingo Local Government Council, who described the health initiative as a privilege for the people of the community, also called on the people of the community to take advantage of the programme to get their health conditions diagnosed and treated.

Still speaking, Bobboji advised that the capacity of the scheme should be strengthened so that it could be more effective and beneficial to the unity of Nigeria and service to humanity.

Commenting on a proposed scrapping of the NYSC, the Chairman said, “I want to appeal to those championing the campaign for the scrapping of NYSC to have a rethink as the benefit of the scheme outweighs the issues being raised.”
