About four thousand people are to benefit from free medical treatment in Taraba State, courtesy of the TY Danjuma  foundation.

The exercise, which is being implemented by the Care Vision Support Initiative (CAVSI), is taking place at the General Hospital in Takum local government area of the state.

Our Correspondent observed that people came out in their numbers old and young, with most of them lacking the financial muscle to treat their eye problems.

While fielding questions from journalists, Program Officer Health of the Foundation, Christie Ogben said the gesture was aimed at assisting those who could not afford treatment for their eye problems.

She informed that the foundation has been working in various parts of Nigeria from 2010 till date, with the view of assisting less privileged who cannot afford medical care considering the importance of eyes to humans.

Christie Ogben, also called on well meaning Nigerians to emulate TY Danjuma Foundation in providing assistance to the less privileged in the society .

Also in an interview, a health Physician who is also the Program Officer for Care Vision Support Initiative (CAVSI), Dr. Kumbak Danjima revealed that there is a high budden of eye issues in Taraba State, saying that the gesture was timely.

He explained that at the beginning, they had registered and attended to about 750 people and appreciated the TY Danjuma Foundation for assisting the common man in the state.
