No government has prioritized Kurmi road like gov. Ishaku - Taraba Legislature

The member representing Kurmi in Taraba state house of assembly, Hon. Tafarki Agbadu Eneme has revealed that no government in Taraba has given priority to the road of Kurmi LG of Taraba state like the incumbent governor of Taraba state, Arch. Darius Ishaku.


The Legislature who spoke on Saturday while attending a wedding program in Jalingo, the state capital revealed that of all the successive governments that have ruled the state, in the last 23 years have done their best but none has made Kurmi road a priority like the government of Ishaku.


The former commissioner stressed the need for the people of Taraba, particularly the people of Kurmi that he represents, to rally round the governor as he is sure of the completion of the road. He also seized the opportunity to thank the governor for making him who he is today.


Recall that in 2020, the Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku officially commenced construction work on the Mararaba/Baissa/Abong/Nguroje road, in his determination to remove every obstacle on the way to the proposed Mambilla Hydro Power Project in Sardauna Council of the state.

The federal road, according to the Commissioner for Power, Badina Garba, and his Information and Orientation counterpart, Danjuma Adamu, is “being constructed and funded by the state”.

Also, during a press briefing in Jalingo in 2020, The commissioners said it was part of the strategic and proactive steps taken by Governor Ishaku to make the project’s implementation easier.

Recall that on 20th November 2020, The Taraba State Governor Flags Off 82Km Mararaba-Baissa-Abong Road, though, before that, work has since commenced on the road.

Findings from the ministry of works show that the construction is divided into three Lots was allocated to CGC 28Km from Mararaba to Sabon Gida Tukura, MSCEC Ltd 28Km from Sabon Gida to Gunduma, Gunduma to Abong which is 26Km and will be constructed by China Zhinghow respectively.
