At least six persons including a pastor were reportedly shot dead after violence broke out among Tiv groups in Chanchanji village, a suburb of Takum local government area of Taraba State on Tuesday.

It was gathered  that the violence broke out among Tiv groups barely weeks after Jukun and Tiv had agreed to sheathe their swords. However, the fresh clash is said to be an intra-ethnic fight; between two Tiv groups.

Our reporter is yet to ascertain the cause of the crisis. The incident which reportedly happened in the early hours of Tuesday also led to the destruction of properties worth millions of nairas.

The National President of the Jukun Development Association of Nigeria, Mr. Bako Benjamin who confirmed the incident via JDAN Facebook page on Tuesday, said the Jukun people are watching in horror.

When our reporter called to hear his comment, Bako Benjamin promised to call our reporter back but never did.
