In the bid to promote peace and curtail insecurity that has been ravaging the state and the country at large, the Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has placed a ban on the use of motorcycles in some towns and villages in three Local Government Areas of the State.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,  Iliya Bekyu Akweh.

According to the statement, the 3 towns of the three local governments are from the southern part of the state; Wukari, Donga & Takum where the lingering Jukun/TIV crisis has taken a toll and criminal element using the opportunity to unravel terror in the region.

The villages in Takum Local Government Area affected are Chanchanji, Kofai Ahmadu, Kunkunu, Dogon Dawa, Tor-tsee, and Gbaondo.

While in Wukari Local Government Area includes Rafin-Kada, Tor-Iorshaa, Tor-Musa, Chonku Chiefdom, Assa Chiefdom, Va'ase,  Gbeji, Ikyaor, Jenikura, Kente and Sondhi are the towns and villages affected

Tor-Damisa is the only village affected in Donga Local Government Area.

This order is coming barely a week after some bandit stormed a mobile police base in Chachanji a suburb of Takum LG, killing a police officer and injuring four passers-by including the son of the traditional ruler of Chachanji.

Recall that Rhapsodi Affos Blog had reported that in the last month over 20 people were abducted along that axis.
