Tragedy struck on Monday as unknown gunmen suspected to be hired assailants killed a young man in the Mile6ix area of Jalingo, Taraba State Capital.
The deceased who was identified as Magai Tanko Gani popularly Daddy made his end when gunmen suspected to be assassins stormed his residence at Mile six, a suburb of Jalingo metropolis.
According to a community source, a neighbor of the deceased, the deceased retired back to his room at about 11 -12 PM where he got back from a film Center at Mile6 to watch a football match because he was feeling sick. It was further gathered that he heard something like a knock on his door but ignored it, after a while, he noticed the presence of people in his compound didn't come out.

After a few minutes, according to our source, the deceased, Magai, heard a loud sound as a result of a stone thrown in his room, and he went out to see who was responsible, only for him to be welcomed with a gunshot. The bullet went straight to his left chest & his killers went away without being apprehended or where they went to.
It was gathered that he was shot only once and according to a resident of the area, Paul who spoke with Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) said they thought it was a normal shot probably by the vigilante creating awareness not until they heard sounds of noise and they rushed and met Magai bleeding, “Before we could get a car to transport him to the hospital, he gave up the ghost because he lost a lot of blood”.
Another source also told our reporter that the corpse of Magai had blood from his nose as a result of bleeding, according to him it suggested that the deceased was probably beaten even after the gunshot.
As of the time of filing this report, the deceased has since been buried on Wednesday, 19th January 2020.
