Tragedy struck on Tuesday evening as not less than nine passengers were  burnt to ashes along Jalingo Lankaviri-Yola in Taraba state.

It was gathered from an eyewitness, Garba Usani, who is a Jalingo based mechanic, that the incident occurred when a vehicle conveying nine persons tried to dodge a porthole.

Noting  that the car belongs to a transport firm, Kakara transport company.

He stressed that the vehicle after somersaulted three times later burst into flame.

He stressed that the vehicle was at high speed, noting that all the occupants of the vehicle were burnt beyond recognition.

He begged drivers to always maintain speed limits especially now that most of the Nigerian reads are in bad condition.

“The drivers should also remember that the life of those they are carrying is important, so they must at all point avoid over speeding” he noted.

He called on the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to as a matter of urgency repair all federal roads that are currently in bad shape to avoid the recurrence of such accidents.
