Tragedy struck on Sunday morning as unidentified gunmen attacked the house of a Jalingo based businessman, leaving his son dead and the daughter seriously brutalized at Mayo-Dassa area of Jalingo LG, Taraba state capital.


The businessman who was identified as Mr. Obasi was left in shock after coming back from church with his wife to find his children lifeless as

gunmen suspected to be hired assassins invaded the house on Sunday morning.


Rhapsodi Affos Blog RAB gathered from a source close to the family, that the gunmen stormed the house at about 7:30 - 8: 30 and met the daughter and son. Upon close observation of their bodies, the son (19) was hit by a pistle severally that injured his head and led to his demise. Rhapsodi Affos Blog RAB further gathered that their parents went to the church with their infant sibling only to come back and meet the lifeless bodies of their children and then raised an alarm.


According to our source, their body was discovered around 9:00 which suggests the attack was carried around 7:30 or 8:00 AM. He also added that no one saw the attackers when they stormed or exited their house.


As of the time of filing this report, the daughter is hospitalized and receiving treatment at the hospital, but the state of her health is yet to be ascertained.


The police public relations officer of Taraba State command, DSP David Misal has confirmed the incident to  Rhapsodi Affos Blog (RAB) reporter via telephone, however, he said there was no death recorded but the duo were injured.


Our findings show that Mr. Obasi is an Igboman, businessman who has a big shop around a roadblock in the Jalingo metropolis and deals with minerals and other provisions.
