JUST IN: Taraba Terminates Extension Of Pensionable Service In The State Civil Service

Taraba state governor, Arch. Darius Ishaku has approved the stoppage of extension of Pensionable service for Public Officers in the state Civil Service in the state.


The Taraba State Government has terminated the extension of Pensionable Service in the state Civil Service.


The order was contained in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Suzy Jemimah Nathan (Mni). According to the circular, the compulsory retirement age for all grades in the service shall be 60 years or 35 years of Pensionable service whichever is earlier.


The circular also shows that those whose tenure has been extended will be screened and reviewed and those who possess special services will be retained on a contract basis


The circular which was exclusively obtained by Rhapsodi Affos Blog RAB reads

"Based on the recommendations of the Head of Service and the Civil Service Commission, His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved the stoppage of extension of Pensionable service for Public Officers in the state Civil Service in line with the Public Service Rule No.020810 (i)

"Public Service Rule No. 020810 states clearly that "The compulsory retirement age for all grades in the service shall be 60 years or 35 years of Pensionable service whichever is earlier".


“Accordingly, all offices whose services were extended  shall be screened and those with special skills and services shall be needed will become will be converted to contracts appointment in accordance to the provision of the public service rules 020401 and 020401”


“Given the to uphold uniform applications of rules guiding retirement in the state civil service chief accountant of Ministries, Department & Agencies are required to ensure strict compliance reprovision of the public service rules, other regulations and extent circular on retirement”
