While speaking the Tarr Kambu thanked the Paramount Chief of Mambilla, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Shehu Audu Baju II (who) deemed it fit to appoint him (as) the first Wakili Kambu (Tarr Kambu).

According to him, As Tarr kambu, he recounts that he was saddled with responsibilities of providing quality leadership in the kambu, Re-unite and keep the kambu community together more than ever before just as in the days of our fathers, Ensure that there is a cordial relationship between their community and other neighboring tribes, and many other functions as could be required by those ahead of him.

Below he stated:

“Greetings to you all sons and daughters of the kambu community, her friends and well-wishers, here in jalingo, home, and diaspora”.

“I was turbaned or crowned by our Father The Paramount Chief of Mambila, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Shehu Audu Baju II as the first Wakili Kambu(Tarr Kambu) as history will have it, earlier this year 2020. A position that in my wildest dreams I had never thought of. But now is surprising both to you and me, that I am the one standing before you in this capacity. Thanks to all mighty God and our father Dr. Shehu Audu Baju II, who deemed it fit that this cap fits no other head but mine”.

“As Tarr kambu, was saddled with no other responsibilities newer or other than that that has been the heart cry of you and I. thus;

Provide quality leadership in the kambu community.

Re-unite and keep the kambu community together as ever before in the days of our fathers.

 Ensure that there is a cordial relationship between our community and our neighboring tribes, and many other functions as could be required by those ahead of me”.

“The kambu community has since been existence from time immemorial, we grew up as children and found out how our parents were carrying out our cultural heritage”.

“In the year 2002, in Jalingo, sons, and daughters of kambu all gathered to form the Kambu Cultural Development Association. (KACDA). Our brother, Mr. Kilo Nfor was made the pioneer National President of the association. This was in the quest to better our culture and give it a modern touch of the world we are living in”.

“When I assumed my reign as Tarr Kambu, I was faced with series of problems among us with series of litigations in courts of law. In trying to look into it, I discovered that some of sardauna illustrious sons ranging from stake holders, high ranking politicians, senior lawyers etc. had tried to proffer solutions to this ugly situation but their best could not yield any positive result then. We appreciate their efforts.

“I also did my best in my shortest period of reign and my best equally was not good enough to have yielded a better result. As such, I took my cry and plea to our father who handed the staff of authority to me. His Royal Majesty, the paramount chief of Mambila a piece loving father who did not give me a deft ear but listened to my cry and acted immediately”.

“His Royal Majesty in his wealth of wisdom took out time to write letters of invitation and forwarded them to the key persons who were directly involved in the issues and many others whom were to be of great help to the meeting. The meeting was slated for 12th Sept. 2020. In his exalted palace in Gembu. The invitees all appeared before him. After all set and done, the following resolutions were arrived at by and before His Royal Majesty”.

I READ………..

“My fellow compatriot; kambu community, her friends and well wishers here present and those who were not able to turn up because of one reason or the other. Base on these powers vested upon me and in relation to needed peaceful co-existence amongst us Tarabans, His royal majesty the Tambon Mambila and our Governor Ach. Dairius Dickson Ishaku, our peace preacher who has made it very clear to everyone that there can never be any reasonable development without peace. Who will always say, “give me peace and I will give you development”.

“I therefore act as directed by his royal Majesty, particularly on paragraph 3 sub.1 of the directives and resolution letter”

Thus; TARR Kambu should set up a transitional committee.

“Relying on the above paragraph, I’m left with no other alternative than to constitute a “five man committee” who after their swearing in today will go ahead to execute the other demands itemized on the resolution letter.”.
