Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has sought the support of the People of Takum during the take-off of the Mambilla Hydro Electric Damp project.

Ishaku made the plea during the Sensitization exercise on the Mambilla Hydro Electric Dam project in Takum, Takum local government Area.

The Governor who was represented by the commissioner of Power, Badina Garba posited that the Dam aside from Power generation has the capacity of providing job opportunities for teeming youths and other socio-economic activities.

He charged them to be law-abiding citizens by respecting the constituted authority in reporting any issue affecting their lands to enable the project to go smoothly.

Ishaku stressed the need for consciousness on the implication that may be caused by technology in the course of construction work of the Dam assuring that the compensation would be paid to whoever that the project may affect 

The Governor tasked traditional rulers and relevant stakeholders in the area to preach tolerance and peaceful disposition to ensure a conducive atmosphere of the work.

Earlier, Chairman Takum Local Government Area,Chiban Tikari,  thanked the Committee for the Sensitization awareness across the state positing that their efforts will yield positive results given the significance of the campaign.

Shiban Tikari assured of total support of the People of Takum in the take-off of the work.

Commenting, Chief of Kashimbilla, Zakari Musa advocated for justice and transparency devoid of any parochial interest to avoid tension.

The Royal father pledged the commitment of the traditional rulers to cooperate with the team of the project for them to succeed.
