Solomon lamented over the death of her children as they had lofty dreams to become successful

Some gunmen suspected to be Tiv militia killed three siblings on a farm in Tsokondi of the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

It was learnt that the children went to the farm to weed Egusi but failed to return home at the usual time. Worried by their mother sent for them but were met lying lifeless on the farm.  

When contacted, the children’s mother, Salome Solomon, explained that the attack happened on June 13, 2020 on their farm.  

She said, “They went to weed out Egusi farm and they did not return home at the time I thought they would get back. After cooking, I sent for them; that was when we discovered they had been killed on the farm.”

Solomon lamented over the death of her children as they had lofty dreams to become successful.  

“One of them wanted to study Computer Engineering, but they didn’t allow him to achieve his dreams.”

It was learnt that the gunmen crisis had been lingering in the state while innocent lives were being wasted on a daily basis.

Solomon called on the government to intervene in the crisis and put an end to the killings.  

Describing how traumatic the experience had been for her, she said, “Since the incident occurred, life has been difficult for me. Each time I go to bed at night, I remember how they used to sleep and how we used to pray in the morning. It’s really painful.”
