Tragedy struck on wednesday as properties worth millions of Naira were burnt when fire outbreak caught the Information & Technology building of federal polytechnic Bali, Taraba State.

The fire, according to sources started at about 12PM on Wednesday & lasted for several hours.

As at time of filing this report, no casualties have been recorded yet but properties worth millions of naira were completely burnt down. And the source of the outbreak is yet to be known.

Prior to the incident, the ICT centre was also used for JAMB registration & exams as it is among the few accredited centres in the state.

In similar development, some part of the hostel of the female hostel (Block B) of Federal university Wukari caught fire yesterday, burning down prosperities of students before it was curtailed.

Rhapsodi Affos Blog's finding from sources in the university suggest that the fire break out was traced to an electrical defect of a particular fan. This was however revealed when an electrical tran came to probe the cause of the incident.

"We went to read at a class near by and I saw people running and shouting that fire has caught our hostel" a source told RAB.

A chat with a source, a lecturer of the university who pleaded anonymity told RAB that a committee had been set up to look into the course of the issue and possible way out.
