The Chief of lbi in Taraba state, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar DanBawuro has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for awarding the contract for the construction of Ibi bridge.

He said engineers and team of surveyors from the company that was awarded the project have arrived in the town.
He said the arrival of contractors, who would construct a bridge on River Benue in the town, was a good development and “a dream come true’’.

The Monarch told newsmen in an interview that the arrival of the team of engineers in preparation for the project was a fulfillment of a promise the president made some years back.

He said the bridge, when constructed, would not only serve people of Taraba state but the entire people in the North East.

He said Ibi community and the entire people of Southern Taraba have agitated for a bridge to be constructed on River Benue in the town since in the 1970s.

Alhaji Salihu said the bridge would serve as a short cut to Federal capital Territory Abuja, Nasarawa and Plateau states as well as other part of the country from Taraba and Adamawa states and parts of Gombe and Borno states.

The Monarch said the bridge would reduce the risk associated with crossing of the river on ferries and canoes.
He thanked Governor Darius Ishaku and the Aku _Uka of Wukari Dr.Shekarau Agyo for the role they played towards actualization of the project.
He assured the contractor handling the project of total support and cooperation of his people.
