Sixty-four women are being trained on skills acquisition by Chiroma Yakubu Foundation in conjunction with National Directorate of Employment at Mutumbiyu in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba state.

Newsmen reports that the women were drawn from Bali and Gassol local government areas while the training is coordinated by the National of employment (NDE).

Speaking shortly before the commencement of the training, representative of chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Ahmed Bala Gassol, said the training was intended to build their capacity and also make them self-reliant.
He said the programme, which will last for three weeks, would also equip them with skills in soap making and cosmetics, among others.

He said the foundation would offer scholarship to the less privileged in the society.

Ahmed Bala Gassol said, though the foundation was new, but it has so far offered scholarship to students in tertiary institutions and paid WAEC and NECO examinations fees to less privileged final year students in secondary schools.
He said foundation would expand its activities to other areas in the state to enable more people benefit from its programmes.
