The executive governor of Taraba state, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku has donated relief materials to Cameroon refugees in Takum LG, Rhapsodi Affos Blog, reports.

It will be recalled that few days ago the Caretaker Chairman of Takum local government, Hon Shiban Tikari alongside Security Agents went to some villages in Yukuben and Shibong upon receiving the news on influx of fleeing refugees from Cameroun.

According to Hon Shiban, his prompt response was not only to go access the humanitarian challenges of the refugees, but to screen the refugees so as to ensure there is no inflitration by those with ulterior motive who may turn against to attack their host communities.

Sequel to thorough investigation by security agencies to confirm genuineness of the fleeing refugees, Hon Tikari said, "when realised that the fleeing refugees who are largely women, children and aged persons were true victims of the ongoing Ambazonia War in Cameroun, and have already exploited the routes linking some communities in Yukuben and Shibong to the Cameroun border for their safety, we pleaded on His Excellency, Gov Darius Ishaku to help ameliorate suffering of the victims"

"And to the glory of God and in the magnanimity of His Excellency Gov Darius, relief materials were sent through the Permanent Secretary Taraba State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), Mr Nuvalga DanHabu and Commissioner for Special Duties and Humanitarian Services, Hon Taninga Binga", Hon Tikari added.

Relief materials include bags of maize and rice, hundreds of mat, cartons of soap as well as assorted noodles. 
Others are cartons of brush and tooth paste, towels and toilet tissues.
