I went to buy Abacha from a newly opened shop last week. A very young girl about 17 or 18 years was there too to do same. She already ordered for hers and was waiting for the woman to serve her.

As we sat waiting, the young girl picked up a conversation with me. At first, I was unwilling to get involved in the conversation because the hunger that was churning my stomach then no be for here o. Lol. But this girl was not dissuaded by my reluctance. She continued to wire me questions until I yielded and the conversation fired on.

She asked me if I was a student of the University which I answered and asked her same She said she wasn't and I noticed that she was not sad about it (that's because most teens her age feel ashame or pained to disclose their educational status). The happiness and contentment she exuded was contagious and I wanted to know why. As if she could read my thoughts, she proceeded to tell me that she was a distributor of Gnld products (Neolife) and even show me one of the products she took out from a bag she had on her laps. She told me that she was had wanted to go to school immediately she graduated from secondary school but her elder sister who is currently a Director in the business introduced her to the business and she immediately obliged.

She concluded by saying, "Hmm... School na scam o. I want to make a difference in my family and liberate my family from poverty". Trust me she's already doing that.

Here's the gist:

You don't actually need formal education to do something outstanding or be great. If you're already in school, then your education should be an added advantage you have to do better than those who did not smell the four corners of a classroom and if you are not, just like that teen, please, what's your excuse again?

Her optimism and boldness to even disclose what she does was marvelous to me. Most young ones are not that bold. Learn to tell the world what you do without being ashamed of it. I discovered I had that challenge early enough and I've dealt with it so you can too. Truth is, not everybody will be happy for you. Some will even make you feel as though you are the most miserable of humans on the face of the Earth but until you believe it matters, then it doesn't.

Are you 16, 17, 18 or however old are you and you've not started thinking of how to make a difference in this world you've found yourself? Hurry and do just that!

 Don't you want to make Mama, Papa, brother, sister, Uncle, Aunty proud? Don't you want Grandma and Grandpa to display that contagious sincere smile and go to their graves with it?

Don't be ashamed of your hustle and bustle. With such boldness and confidence, I doubt if there'll ever be a limit that that girl can go. If you're ashamed of what you do, I don't think you actually have passion for that thing because if you do, just your passion alone will make every iota of shame to flee.

If you're ashamed to start small, the feeling of winning big may scare you.

Whoever told you you must go to school to make it in life? Everybody must not use the same route that somebody else used to succeed. No, everybody must not! But everybody must follow the same process which includes your confidence and lack of shame in proclaiming to the whole world what you do. Nobody ever made it feeling shy or ashamed of what they loved doing so if you are, you'd better watch it or you might never get there.
