The provost of Taraba state College of education (COE) zing, Dr. Mike Dio Jen Friday warned newly matriculated students of the institution to desist from involving in acts of cultism, examination malpractice, hooliganism, prostitution and other social vices capable of destroying their academic future.

Dio, who gave the warning in Zing while administering matriculation oath to the students said matriculation offers students entitlement to all rights and privileges of the college.
 He explained that such rights and privileges can be withdrawn if the conduct of a student is found wanting
“Matriculation is a yearly ritual by which young academics are inducted into the academic community for the purpose of higher education.


“As newly admitted students, you must study; learn to use the library including other digital facilities to enhance your learning skills.
“You develop self-confidence, persistence and leadership activities, get involved in classroom and out of classroom activities to develop self-confidence,” he said.
