Jalingo – The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Sani Abubakar Danladi, on Monday signed the peace accord ahead of the general elections, days after his campaign train was attacked and he narrowly escaped assassination.
Danladi said that he was there to sign the peace accord because he believed in the police to keep their word and the peace agreement as they had done in the past, but frowned at the actions of the DPO of Wukari Division who stood aloof during his ordeal in the hands of bandits last Thursday.
He challenged people associating him with violence to come out with any evidence and urged the security agencies in the state to owe up and arrest him if he was found wanting at any time.
“I believe there would be justice to manifest in this signing because I believe in the security. People are linking me with violence and I urge the security to challenge me if I am found wanting at any point at all.
“If the police fail to do justice as we witnessed in Wukari during my ordeal, it would be very bad. The DPO in Wukari claimed he was not aware of our coming after we had written to the Commissioner of Police in the state and gotten his approval.”
