The Nigerian Army said it recovered AK 47, pump action, a dane gun and some ammunition from herdsmen in Taraba state.
The recovery was made by troops of the 101 Special Forces Battalion, deployed in exercise AYEM AKPATUMA, on Thursday.
According to Brig-General Texas Chukwu, spokesman for the army, the guns and ammunition were recovered after troops repelled the Fulani herdsmen’s attack on Zamban village, in Suntai Local Government Area of Taraba state.
Chukwu further said one of the attackers was captured during the encounter.
“The captured bandit is presently undergoing interrogation. The public is once again reminded to report any suspicious movements in their areas to the security agency for prompt action,” he stated.
