Some residents of Takum local government in Taraba state have accused the military of supervising the crisis going on there. Muji village on the outskirt of Takum was burnt to the ground Thursday. Witness said soldiers actually stood by to "superintend" the carnage.

A resident, Bako Ahmadu, good correspondents that it was a scary sight. He said, "I don't want to believe these are part of the Nigerian Army because I know their professionalism. These ones are an army of occupation.  They came over and cut off our young men who want to save us from the mayhem. They cordoned them off as the invaders had a field day."

A political leader in the town said, "Soldiers are actually supervising the systematic burning and killings in Takum villages like Kpashi Fawen Muji are completely burnt. Soldiers ringed Fulani militias from locales who tried to resist such invasion. Kai the Apc government have crossed the demarcation lines of morality."

Governor Darius Ishaku is from Takum. Former defence minister, General TY Danjuma (rtd) is also from there.

A House of Assembly member representing Takum1, Hosea Ibi, was recently kidnapped and found dead after weeks of waiting. Investigations are ongoing, even as some arrests have been made.

Residents complained last week of hearing sporadic gunshots around the villages.

The state government has also openly called for the removal of, Col. Gambari, the Commanding Officer  (CO) of the Takum barracks, accusing him of taking sides in the altercation.

The military has maintained its men and officers are professional in their dealings.
