General TY Danjuma ,Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku and wife Barr Mrs Anna Ishaku, Deputy Governor Taraba state,  Enrg Haruna Manu,  Speaker THA Rt Hon Abel Diah and other Distinguished Personalities attends Maiden Combine Convocation of the Taraba state University

The Convocation took place at the Taraba state university premesis and was well attended by convocants, students and well wishers from outside and within the state.

Governor ishaku said the late Danbaba's dream for establishing the University will remain alive and be sustained.  He expressed happiness with the vice chancellor for setting a standard which is today yelling results in all sector of the University . The governor congratulated all the graduants and asked them to take there proper place in the society urging them to have a dream in making Nigeria a better place than it is.

Darius said posterity will remember all who have contributed in one way or the other in making sure that the growth of the University is not left in the hands of one person. He said more faculties has been added with many more department yet to call come.

Today we are witnessing a convocation which is the first of it kind in the University and this is a proof that no matter how Long it takes there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. The governor promise to complete the library and to also build the perimeter fence round the school .  He said the government will partner with the University to bring out the best in what ever will grow the state and the University.

Darius said Without peace they can be no development and he has set up a move which will always talk on conflict and resolutions. Ishaku said he prefare peaceful and workable resolution rather than strikes because it deprives our students from when to start affecting the society positively . The Governor said he is proud to have in the state to celebrate this extra joyful Moment in person of General TY Danjuma describing him as a citizen of the world .

The Governor thanked the Geust  lecturer, the Pro chancellor and the entire people who graced the occasion, the Governor onbehalf of the state government donated the sum 25 million Naira to the University

General Jeremiah Useni Rtd was appointed the Chancellor of the University by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku.

Jeremiah who was described as an achiever who has maintained a dignified silence, a promoter of peace, and icon of peace said he is proud to have identified with the University because for the short period of time he is able  to gain touch with the affairs of the University, he has recorded excellence all round and will put in his best for the continues growth of the University.

Jeremiah thank Governor Darius Ishaku for making the university grow I'm such a speed and for the able provisions for a successful convocation,  he described ishaku as a man with a vision to change the face of the University to match a world standard one.

Professor Vincent Tenebe in his Convocation address said this was the first time the school is holding this very great occasion, he said the University is growing in extra curricular activities with over 50  professor at as earlier met 7 on ground, and he must thank Governor ishaku for always providing them with all resources needed to run a success university. Saying they've always admitted 2000 candidate since establishment but with the support of Governor Darius ishaku they made it possible to admit  4800 and  of recent more faculties have been added Eg Faculty of law.

Tenebe gave a break down of graduates since 2013 with about 5900 successful Awardee of Masters Degre,s, Degree's, Diploma's of various fields in different faculties.  First Class 29, Second class Upper (2.1) 1011,  second class lower (2.2) 2083 And third Class 673. He said is a rear privileged for General TY Danjum to accept the honor of a Doctorate Degree from the university because he has turned down many and cheered the graduates to be proud of been of thesame ALUMNI with the World General TY.

General TY Danjuma speaking said the security of this Nation can not be left in hands of armed forces, he ask everyone to rise up and defend him self,  his territory,  his state, and Nigeria because the arm forces have  colude with armed bandits to take away our territory and shall be resisted with all might, he tagged the killings going on in the country as ethnic cleansing . The General spoke in a higher tune And also donated the Sum of 100 millions Naira to the University

General TY Danjuma, Jeremiah useni , Dr  Tony Elumelu,  Prof Suleiman Bogoro were Confared with honorary Doctorate Degree.
