The Chairman of the North Central states chapter of Miyetti-Allah kautal Hore, Alhaji Gidado Idris has alleged increasing hatred for and killing of Fulani herders and their cows in Cross River State and other parts of the country and urged the Federal Government to intervene.
He spoke weekend in Calabar, capital of Cross River State, after he visited a community, Mbiabong village in Odukpani LGA, where a Fulani herder was killed last week following a clash over alleged destruction of their farmlands by cows owned by Fulani herders.
Expressing the regret that Ugaga youths stormed the Fulani camps and killed one person, he called for explanation from the local government authorities as well as the traditional rulers and security operatives from the area.
“We want the Federal Government to quickly wade into the incessant killings of Fulan people in many parts of the country. Fulani people and their cows were killed in Mambila, Adamawa state and in Numan, Taraba state, Bassa local Government and Baju border with Kaduna state. This is getting out of hand,” he said.
